I’m a pop culture addict. I love keeping up with celebrities and really love keeping up with their relationships. One particular relationship that occurred about a year or so ago took the world by storm. Taylor Swift had latched on to her next victim and it was none other than the One Direction heartthrob, Harry Styles.
If you follow me on any social media or read any of my other posts, you will find it quite apparent which member of 1D is my favorite. So you can only imagine my horror at this news, but I kept calm because I knew this relationship was destined for failure (or at least I hoped). Pictures of “Haylor” (EW) flooded magazines and every other possible media outlet. Then T-Swift pulled a very T-Swift move. After dating for less than a month she bought a house in london near Harry. HELLO CRAZY. This inevitably lead to their split and her new album which will be released on October 27th. I’m sure we can expect some catchy tunes on their rather “swift” romance… (See what I did there?)
I write all of this to give you a background for what I decided to rewrite yesterday. After a rather funny conversation with a great friend of mine about Taylor, I got the inspiration to rewrite the One Direction hit song Story of My Life. I felt like Taylor should understand what it feels like to have a song written about her so my rewrite of the song is now from Harry’s point of view about their past relationship. I hope you enjoy.
If you haven’t heard the original version, you definitely should before reading my version! Check out the link below!
Story of My Life – The Rewrite
Written in these walls are the stories that I can’t explain. I leave my heart open but she stalked me for days and for days.
She told me in the morning that she loves me all the way down to her bones. Seems to me that I always attract the crazy obsessive girls.
And I’ll be gone, gone tonight
I’ll be running from her all night
I feel like she’s following me through the woods
Maybe she’s behind that tree…
The story of my life I take her home, she fell in love, way too fast, and bought a house next to me.
The story of my life I tried to hide, until she showed, up at my door, again
The story of my life.
Written on these walls are the love notes that left a stain. Her 100 cats scratched up my window panes.
I know that in the morning she will show up with fresh baked goods. Dang her cooking, it always tastes too good.
And I’ve been waiting for her to write a song about me. Wait, holy freak did she just bash me on national TV?!
The story of my life I take her home, she fell in love, way too fast, and bought a house next to me.
The story of my life I tried to hide until she showed, up at my door, again
The story of my life.
