Hello Greatness!!!
I currently live in the beautiful city of Austin, TX and besides the obvious reasons of why I love this city like the captivating views, which is a definite upgrade from my hometown, and of course The University of Texas at Austin, I love and adore the FOOD. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in this gorgeous city is Vince Young Steakhouse, and if you do not recognize the name Vince Young you either really hate football, or you are a USC fan who still is pretending he does not exist.
Vince’s restaurant occupies the old Austin Real World House in the heart of downtown and he has turned it into a dining experience that cannot be missed. Dim lighting and a fantastic jazz band makes for an excellent evening, and not to mention the gorgeous pictures of the Longhorn DKR stadium, the national championship win, and scenes of the beautiful city. I always look forward to when my parents come in town because that means I now have money to go eat there! This place is expensive, but you get what you pay for and that is gourmet food. Their steaks are the highlight and are big enough to share. Even a well done steak is extremely juicy and cuts like pure butter. Is your mouth watering yet? Want to be a little adventurous, you can add a topping to your steak like pan-seared scallops, crab, or even blue cheese crumbles.
No steak though would be complete without the sides. Family style sides that include things like bacon mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and my two personal favorites asparagus with béarnaise, and the fries (you cannot miss these). My roommate likes to get in on the family outing to Vince’s when my parents come in town and two sides is absolutely enough for four people. Like I said the place is expensive so SHARE SHARE SHARE. Skip the salad, they are excellent as well, but when it comes to the steak it cannot be beat and you want to enjoy every single morsel of pure greatness.
So next time you are in Austin check out this restaurant! And if you are a Texas Longhorn fan sometimes you get to catch a glimpse of the national champion (and should’ve been a heisman winner) himself, or even a special guest like Earl Campbell. Nothing goes better with a Longhorn win like a meal influenced by a Longhorn legend!
With Love From Me To You,
Nichole

I think your description of Vince Young is unclear…could you explain again why he is such an important figure in Austin, Texas? I don’t recall him doing anything noteworthy… 😉
Just kidding! Great start to your blog, can’t wait to see more! And I need to try out this restaurant soon.
